About

I’m Mayank Agarwal — a Principal Architect and technical leader based in Bangalore, India, with 12+ years building 0-to-1 platforms and leading engineering teams at scale. I’m currently at Zepto.

At Zepto I’ve scaled the infrastructure 10x while cutting cloud costs by 47%, and architected a search and discovery platform with ML-powered layers that processes millions of daily queries. I built the end-to-end supply-chain technology stack — dark-store management, inventory control (a 35% cost reduction), and last-mile logistics optimization — and designed a production agentic AI platform serving business-critical applications.

My work spans technical leadership, distributed systems, ML infrastructure, search architecture, and supply-chain operations, with measurable impact on engagement, GMV, and operational efficiency — and a focus on mentoring the teams that build it.

I studied at the Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur (2009–2013). Earlier in my career I worked on consumer software at scale — including Microsoft Office for Android — across teams in Bengaluru, Gurgaon, and Hyderabad.
